What makes Brazil unique? Things you should know
Brazil isn’t just a big country, it is one of the best countries in the world. The beaches are breathtaking, the people are extremely hospitable and happy.
Some visitors are shocked by the poverty and the differences between social classes in the country. They hear mostly about corruption, violence, robberies and international scandals. But, actually the country is much more than that.
Brazilians help each other. Neighbors know their neighbors. We celebrate life with our friends and families. We love dancing and singing. We cheer for our favorite football teams. Brazilian music conquers millions of fans all over the world.
The members of a Brazilian family can argue but when one of them needs help, everyone is ready to support him. That is a normal thing to do.
We are enthusiasts by nature. If the light goes out, we shout with happiness when it comes back. We hug and kiss people if we don’t know them yet. We are polite and avoid hurting other people’s feelings.
When you get on a bus and you are carrying a heavy bag, someone will surely ask you if he can put it on his lap.
When it is the weekend and the weather is good we all go to the beach or to the shopping centers. By the way, the malls are simply fantastic: air conditioning, many facilities, and good food.
At the supermarket, we pay some people to carry the heavy bags for us. We like confort too, yes we do!
When the family is together, there is plenty of food. Visitors come without announcement and they are more than welcome. They generally stay to eat with us and they can even sleep if they need.
When we leave a birthday party, we generally take a piece of cake or pastries with us. Fantastic!
Unfortunately, we are not used to learning foreign languages in Brazil. Few people speak English. That’s why it is important to learn Portuguese and communicate with the local population. But it is worthwhile. You can unlimitedly enjoy the wonders of this unforgettable country called Brazil!
